College Park Presbyterian Church is led by ministries of all our members working together to fulfill Christ’s mandate to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that Jesus commanded”. (Matthew 28:19-20) Ministries meet to reflect on where God is calling His church and to take action throughout the month on accomplishing His will. Members and newcomers alike are encouraged to become active in the church by joining these ministries or by starting new ones. A ministry can be as simple as a one time service project, or a daily habit of kindness to people in your workplace, but here is a list of some of our larger and more visible ministries of the church

Worship & Witness (“WaW”)
WaW ministers to the community and congregation through helping to plan and implement worship services and to create meaningful and creative worship experiences. They also minister to the local and global community through outreach and mission, coordinating the congregation’s support and involvement in ongoing activities that impact the world for Christ such as our support for missionaries and our regular donation drives.

Fellowship & Education Ministry (“FEM”)
Design opportunities for people to go deeper in their relationship with Christ through studying God’s Word. Examples include bible study groups for all ages and fellowship events for church and community. Some people call the FEM the “Party Committee” and they have never really denied that that name also fits.

Operations & Maintenance Ministry (“Ops”)
Ministers to the congregation through the stewardship of resources entrusted to the congregation, through our buildings and grounds. These are the handymen, the people who tend to the chipping paint and the accidentally unlocked doors. They also throw Work Days every month to invite others to help them get involved in the stewardship of our physical plant.

The joyful singers of choir, and the ringers of the handbell choir practice most Thursday nights to prepare, and more importantly, to participate, in the musical aspect of our Sunday worship services. You do not need any previous musical ability to be a part of our choirs and there are no auditions, because God did not call us to make a professional presentation, but a joyful noise!

Women’s Circle
Our chapter of the Presbyterian Women, the Faith Women’s Circle is one of the most important and powerful ministries at the church! They meet monthly on the second Tuesday at 10:30 for a Bible Study. but they also arrange innumerable drives and programs for our church, and build fellowship with lunches out.

The Christophers
Men meet on Thursday morning at about 7am (though they have been known to start earlier informally). The humble Christophers are small in number but mighty in consistency and longevity. Anyone who wants to join is welcome, there is always extra coffee.

Prayer Ministry
One of our newest ministries is the prayer ministry that meets on the Third Wednesday of each month at 10:30 to pray for one another, the church and the world.

The Session
Last of all the session, which is a rotating band of Church Elders that are elected by the congregation, serve the church by governing everything that happens. The pastor is not in charge of the church, the session is, as the pastor sits on the session and moderates the meetings.
